Welcome to Georgetown Anesthesiology!
Located in the heart of the Nation’s capitol, the Georgetown Anesthesiology residency program offers a superb clinical experience, unparalleled camaraderie among residents and an opportunity to learn from faculty who are committed to training residents to become highly independent and evidence-based by the completion of residency. We are happy that you are interested in our program and invite you to explore our website to find out what makes Georgetown such a great place to train!
Clinical training at Georgetown is broad, offering subspecialty rotations at three of the areas most respected hospitals: MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, Children’s National Medical Center and MedStar Washington Hospital Center. We also offer rotations in chronic and interventional pain management in a private practice setting. Residents easily achieve clinical exposure which allows for the development of unparalleled clinical acumen and superior procedural skill. Didactic sessions help to supplement our clinical education and include mock oral board examinations, senior grand rounds presentations, as well as faculty lectures.
Our residents have a long history of obtaining positions in excellent academic and private practices, as well as competitive fellowship programs in Pediatric Anesthesiology, Cardiac Anesthesiology, Critical Care Medicine, Chronic and Interventional Pain Medicine, Regional Anesthesia and Anesthesia Education. As we hope you’ll find, our training offers a dynamic foundation from which your future practice will grow.
Outside of the hospital, the DC metro area offers endless opportunities for recreational pursuits. This is a choose-your-own-adventure city: from rotating cultural experiences at the renowned Kennedy Center, to the many Smithsonian museums (with free admission!), to the vibrant foodie scene, fantastic shopping, you really cannot go wrong. DC is also an extremely active city, with countless running, biking and hiking trails, rivers to kayak, canoe or SUP and many miles to walk while taking in the sites.
We are so pleased to call this place home and invite you to stop by for a visit!! If you have any questions about our program, please drop us a line!
